Because the cell phone uses an intercom circuit, all stations on that circuit will lose intercom capability
when the cell phone is in use. Intercom conversations will still be present if the cell phone provides side-
tone, or if the audio panel is modified for telephone sidetone.
BendixKing does not guarantee compatibility with personal cellular telephones.

3.8.2
Cellular telephone sidetone
As shipped from BendixKing, the AeroPanel 100 provides cellular telephone sidetone (the user’s voice fed
back to the headset).
3.8.3
Scratchpad messages
The “scratchpad” recording offers 2 ½ minutes of total recording time, or 16 messages for checklists or other
messages. To start recording, press and hold the “PLAY” button until chime tone (about 2/12 seconds) indi-
cates the start of the recording. Another 2 ½ second press will stop the recording. You can add to the previous
recording the same way.
To clear the scratchpad message, press and hold HRTF, NAV1, NAV2 and AUX until chime is heard in the
headset.
NOTE: If a recording lasts longer than 10 continuous seconds, you may hear a slight pause in playback –
however the entire message will be played.
3.8.4
Radio Playback
The radio recording portion is a continuous loop recorder, (last message received will be the first heard), the
recorder has 45 seconds of recording time, or up to eight messages. There are no buttons to press to start
recording. The system automatically begins to record the instant the radio selected for transmit becomes
active. Only the pilot and copilot will hear the playback audio.
To play back the last recorded message, you quickly press the PLAY. You must wait for the message to stop
playing before accessing the prior message. To cancel the playback, quickly press the playback button for
again. The next time the button is pressed for one second, the next earlier message will be heard. If the radio
becomes active while a message is playing, the message playback will stop. The new audio will not be stored.
Press play to restart the message you were playing.
Messages are lost when a different radio is selected for transmit.
The playback will stop whenever there is more incoming selected com audio, and the message can be re-
played from the beginning.
Note:
an external playback button may also be installed in a convenient location.
3.9 Bluetooth® interface
The AeroPanel 100 has a Bluetooth interface. The audio panel is always “discoverable,” so you just need to
search for the AEROPAN from your Bluetooth-equipped phone or music source. The default access code is
0000, if needed. Once the AeroPanel 100 has been “paired” with your Bluetooth device, the TEL distribution
will act as described in the manual.
You answer a call at the phone itself. Calls can only be answered from the telephone handset. You can dis-
connect the call from the handset.
When the AeroPanel 100 is connected to a Bluetooth device for telephone or music, the Bluetooth
indicator on the audio panel will illuminate.
3.9.1
Pairing and un-pairing Bluetooth devices
The AeroPanel 100 can be paired with up to eight individual devices. When that number is exceeded,
one device will be automatically un-paired to allow the new device. The device eliminated will be selected
at random by the Bluetooth module.
Hint, if your old phone is not recognized by the AeroPanel 100, you may
simply need to re-pair.
