Operating Concepts
3 Scrolling both the display and the selection buttons at the same time. This behavior can
occur only when the panel has no ‘VFD/SEL Toggle’ button.
If the panel has a ‘VFD/SEL Toggle’ button, you can switch between options 1 and 2. The button
will read either “Paging VFD” or “Paging Sel Buttons.”
When you scroll the selection buttons, they scroll modulo the number of buttons. For instance, if
there are 9 buttons, they scroll in groups of 9 items.
This button scrolls the list
up
. The ‘Page Up’ button becomes enabled when it is possible to scroll
up and is disabled when it is not possible.
The default button text is “Page Up” but the button can have any legend.
Panel Lock
A panel lock button prevents changes to the panel settings, especially router crosspoints. When
the panel is locked, the button array becomes blank except for the ‘Panel Lock’ button which
becomes high-tally red.
The button is a toggle: press the ‘Panel Lock’ button to lock the panel. Press it again to unlock
the panel.
The button text is either “Panel Lock” or “Panel Unlock.”
Preset Release
This button removes locks and protects from preset source devices. (If source locks and protects
are not used in your system, this button is not needed.)
If you select a source and someone else has locked or protected the source, your panel will illu-
minate the ‘Preset Release’ button and tell you who locked or protected the source. You can
release it if your panel has “forced release” enabled. (Note that you cannot lock or protect
sources with the NV9640A.)
Press the ‘Preset Release’ button to release the source.
The default button text is “Preset Release” but the button can have any legend.
Previous Source
This button presets the previously selected source for the current destination. This function is
useful when you make a route in error.
To recover the previous source, press ‘Previous Source’. When you do, the ‘Take’ button goes
high-tally. Then press ‘Take’ to recover the source.
The default button text is “Previous Source” but the button can have any legend.
Quick Source
A quick source button selects a source and performs an immediate take.
Quick source and source buttons are similar, except that the quick source performs a take. Be
aware of which buttons are quick sources so you do not perform an accidental take.
Normally, the button text is the source’s mnemonic, but the configurer can assign any text to the
button.
