Firmware upgrade
CAB15 supports firmware upgrades in the field PC download tool. A standard
HyperTerminal with Xmodem support must be used.
The download can be made through the RS232C port on the operator terminal.
Application and bootloader version will be available in the operator terminal
interface.
Perform the following steps to upgrade the CAB15 firmware:
1. Select
Setup/Peripherals
in the terminal project and add
Transparent mode
under the RS232 port.
2. Download the new project to the terminal.
3. Start the Windows program HyperTerminal and enter the following config-
uration:
38400,8,N,1
(no flow control).
4. Connect HyperTerminal and press space, to get a menu in the
HyperTerminal and passthrough in the operator terminal.
5. Type
D
and then
Y
.
6. Choose
Transfer and send file
, select the .hms file and set the protocol to
Xmodem
; perform these actions quickly. Click
Send
for CAB15 to update
its software.
7. After the download, the CAB15 firmware is updated. Press
X
to restart the
adapter.
