Bedrock AM100 operating manual

18.3. Recovery mode

If the internal operating system or software of the Bedrock AM100 gets corrupted, because
of a failed firmware update or otherwise, the system can usually be restored through the
internal recovery mode.

To enter recovery mode, make sure the device is turned off (shutdown can be forced by
keeping the on/off button pressed for >5 seconds).

Then take the following steps:

•

Start the device by pressing the power button. Press the button briefly and
release, until the LED lights up.

•

After a very short interval (<1 second) the LED turns green. As soon as this
happens, press the power button again and keep it pressed down.

•

Timing is critical; it may take a few attempts to get it right. It is a short press
to start the device, followed by a long press as soon as the LED turns green.

•

Wait for the AM100 to initiate recovery mode. You will see the screen below.

The device can now be accessed through USB. This means you can copy a new .EAP
update package to the UPDATES folder. If you are having trouble accessing USB in the
normal operating modes of the AM100, this may be a way to restore your system and re-
install the latest firmware.
