slices of bread with buttered side up. For an optimal result,
any fi llings should be placed well within the sandwich slices.
• Lower the upper cooking plate carefully onto the bread until
the sandwich maker is tightly clamped.
• The cooking time required to obtain crisp brown sandwiches
depends on the type of bread, fi llings and your personal
taste. Check every 5 minutes until the sandwich is cooked to
your liking.
• Use a nonmetallic utensil (e.g. a wooden spatula) to remove
the sandwich. Do not use sharp or abrasive kitchen utensils
as that would damage the nonstick surface.
• Unplug the sandwich maker from the wall socket after use.
NOTE: During cooking, the green light cycles on and o ff to
indicate that the appliance is maintained at the correct tem-
perature.
How to clean after use
• Never use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents and mate-
rials, as this damages the non-stick coating of the plates.
• Unplug the appliance.
• Let the open appliance cool down.
• First remove any excess oil from the plates with a piece of
kitchen paper before you clean them.
• Use a wooden or plastic spatula to remove food residue that
has gotten stuck (for example solidi fi ed cheese) from the
cooking plates.
• Do not use metal, sharp or abrasive utensils.
• Clean the cooking plates with a moist soft cloth or sponge.
• Clean the outside of the appliance with a moist cloth.
• Never immerse the appliance into water.
• The appliance can be stored in a vertical position.
