Installation
IMPORTANT: READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS
CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR
FUTURE REFERENCE.
We recommend that you carry out the installation away from young children as some of
the smaller components may present a choking hazard when loose.
This barrier has been designed and manufactured for use with children between 6 and
24 months of age. Do not use the safety barrier with children aged over 24 months since
children above this age can climb over or open the barrier.
INSTALLATION
Important: The barrier must always be installed with the locking mechanism on the
opposite side to where your child will be.
IMPORTANT:
Before you install this product you will see a gap between the gate, the frame and the
handle of the Alcalá barrier. This is not a defect. The gap will close once the barrier is
installed correctly.
- Screw the adjustment wheels onto the spindle rods. Insert the disks into the openings
on each side of the barrier. Adjust the wheels.
- Once the wheels have been adjusted, make sure that the distance between the
adjustment wheel and the end of the spindle rod is no more than 5 cm. Ensure that the
gate panel and upper right-hand corner are in a totally parallel position.
- Make sure you install the product with the open/close catch on the side facing away
from the area where your baby or pet is being cared for. In order to install the main
structure between two walls or in a gap, turn the upper adjustment wheels (left and
right) in order to extend the spindle rods in the direction of the walls. Do this until the
gate is firmly fixed between the two walls. You should then make sure that the door is in
a totally vertical position before turning the lower adjustment wheels in the same way.
Keep turning the adjustment wheels until the gate is firmly fixed into position.
For added security it is advisable to tighten the adjustable wheels using the spanner (6).
The spanner easily fits the shape of the wheels, making them much easier to turn.
