3.3.1 CPU Configuration

Intel Virtualization Technology
Virtualization enhanced by Intel Virtualization Technology will allow a platform to run multiple
operating systems and applications in independent partitions. With Virtualization, one
computer system can function as multiple “virtual” systems.

Active Processor Cores
This setting specifies the number of active processor cores.
▶
Intel(R) SpeedStep(TM)
EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology) allows the system to dynamically adjust processor
voltage and core frequency, which can result in decreased average power consumption and
decreased average heat production.
▶
C States
This setting controls the C-States (CPU Power states).
[Enabled] Detects the idle state of system and reduce CPU power consumption accordingly.
[Disabled] Disables this function.
