Honda GL1800 (2001-2005) Audio Amplifier Installation Instructions

46. Take the shorter of the two remaining

leads and run in into the hole you
created earlier.

47. Take the last remaining lead and run it

under the gauge cluster to the right
speaker housing.  Using wire ties,
attach the harness to the black metal
bar that is under the gauge cluster.
Run the wire thru the hole you created
earlier.

48. Inside each speaker housing you will

find the connectors that were
previously connected to the speakers.
Connect the male blade connectors
from the amps wiring harness to these
connectors.  Note that one connector is
smaller than the other.  Connect your
new speakers to the harness.  Refer to
(Fig. 1-6)

Shop Tip:

Make sure the speaker connectors on the wire
harness are securely attached to the terminals
of the Bazooka speakers. You may need to
take a pair of needle nose pliers and crimp
the female connector on the harness onto the
speaker spade to insure you have a good

connection that will not loosen up over time.
You can also use finger nail polish or blue lock

tight to further secure this connection.

     Shop Tip:

49.  When you insert the speakers for

installation, rotate the speaker
terminals towards the gauge cluster.  If
pointed down, they can short out

against the mounting bolt and shut

down the audio system.  Only three of
the speaker fasteners are necessary to
hold the speaker in place.  You can
omit the fastener that is hidden under
the dash face.

50. Connect the wires to the amp.  Connect

the large red wire to +12V.  Connect
the large black wire to GND.  Plug the
large multi-wire connector into the side
of the amp.  Turn the gain control on
the amp to MIN setting.  Mount the
amp keeping in mind you will need to
access the gain control.

51. Insert the fuse into the fuse holder.  A

spark is normal when it is connected.

52. Turn key on.  Select audio source.  Set

the volume on 23-24.  Adjust the gain
until distortion is heard.  In most
systems, there will be no distortion and
the gain control will be at or close to

MAX.
