• Only connect the power adaptor to a normal mains socket connected to the public
supply. Before plugging in the power adaptor, check whether the voltage stated on
the power adaptor complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Never connect or disconnect power adaptors if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the power adaptor from the mains socket by pulling on the cable;
always use the grips on the plug.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or
damaged by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them.
This poses a risk of injury.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adaptor from the mains socket during
storms.
• This device belongs to protection class II. Only a suitable mains outlet may be
used as a power supply.
• Never pour liquids onto electric devices and keep objects filled with liquid away
from the device. Should any liquid or liquid filled object be spilled on the unit, turn
the appropriate mains socket (eg. breaker) off and then disconnect the power plug
from the mains. The product must not be operated after such an event, take it to
a specialised workshop.
• Never use the product directly after moving it from a cold to a warm room.
Condensation might damage the product under certain circumstances. The power
supply can become a danger to life through electric shock! Let the product reach
room temperature before it is connected and used. This can take several hours.
• If the wall plug transformer is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from
electric shock! First, switch off the mains voltage to the mains socket to which the
wall plug transformer is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker
or remove the safety fuse, then switch off at the corresponding RCD protective
switch, so that all poles of the mains socket are disconnected). You can then
unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty
wall plug transformer in an environmentally friendly way; do not use it any more.
Replace it with a wall plug transformer of the same design.
• When using the device it is essential to ensure sufficient ventilation. Never
cover the ventilation slots on the housing as the device is mainly cooled via heat
convection (heat flow).Never place the product on a tablecloth or rug, but on a
hard, heat-resistant surface!
• If the product is used in a commercial context, the safety prevention regulations of
the employers’ liability insurance for electrical equipment and relevant operating
resources must be observed.
• The product can charge up to 4 rechargeable batteries at a time. Rechargeable
batteries of sizes AA/LR6 and AAA/LR3 cannot be loaded simultaneously into
the charger.
• If the product is used in schools, training facilities, hobby and self-serve
workshops, the supervision by trained staff must be guaranteed.
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the rechargeable batteries.
• Rechargeable batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for
a long period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged
rechargeable batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore
use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted rechargeable batteries.
• Rechargeable batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave
rechargeable batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets
swallow them.
• Rechargeable batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.
Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• The instructions given by the manufacturer of the respective rechargeable
batteries must be followed during the charging process.
• Misuse of the charger (high charge rate, wrong polarity, short-circuiting the
charging terminals) can overcharge or destroy the rechargeable batteries. In
worst cases, the rechargeable battery can explode and cause extensive damage.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
• Only use the USB output to charge items that are designed to take a standard
voltage of 5 V/DC.

USB Charger BTL-6
Item no. 1007512
Intended use
This product is designed for charging NiMH rechargeable batteries (AA/LR6/Mignon and AAA/
LR3/Micro). The USB charger offers protection against overheating, Minus Delta (-dV) voltage
detection against overcharging as well as charge recognition. This also includes detection of
faulty and non-rechargeable batteries. Charging with reverse polarity is prevented by recessed
contacts. Once the charging process is complete then trickle charging will occur. This product
allows compatible Smartphones and Tablet PCs to be charged via the USB output.
