Maintenance
Introduction
In general, because of the pitch and size of the components in 2000 series transceivers, Barrett
Communications recommends any maintenance outside our factory facility be limited to module
replacement.
A comprehensive and reasonably priced module replacement program which enables modules to
be sent anywhere in the world in less than three days is operated by Barrett Communications. Call
you dealer or Barrett Communications directly for details.
This section does however provide maintenance and fault finding procedures that can be carried out on
Barrett 2000 series transceivers.
Opening the 2050 for PCB access
Remove the plastic capstan covers by hand, then using the Barrett tool or a M10 Allen key remove the M10
set screws from the side locks
Using the Barrett tool or a M4 Allen key remove the four M4 x 50mm hex head cap screws from the control
head front panel, the control head should now be free.
