CHAPTER 6: MAINTENANCE
1. GENERAL
A. The manufacturer of this equipment does not recommend the user to attempt any
maintenance or repair. In case of malfunction, contact the manufacturer, to obtain the
list of approved repair facilities worldwide, ensuring that this equipment will be serviced
using proper procedures and certified instrument.
2. PREVENTATIVE
A. The user should visually inspect the unit prior to each use looking for signs of apparent
damage.
B. Inspect the Leads for signs of damage.
C. Power the unit ON and observe the initialization routines to insure no issues arise with
the Power On Self-Test.
3. TROUBLESHOOTING
A. If the unit seems to be malfunctioning during use then first verify configuration of the test
set switching and the hook-up arrangements to the system or device under test.
B. If the test set configuration and the hook-up arrangements are found to be correct but
the problem persists then try cycling the test set power and sees if the issue clears.
C. If the test set continues to exhibit the same problem then record the symptoms and
contact Barfield for further instructions.
4. CALIBRATION
A. The DFQ40K calibration interval is once per annum (12 months).
B. Please see the list of approved repair facilities under Maintenance and Repair Information
on Page iv of this document for approved repair facilities.
CAUTION:
Recertification by a calibration/repair shop
not
possessing the necessary
technical knowledge, documentation, special test equipment, tooling and
standards will adversely affect the accuracy/capability of the DFQ40K for
testing the aircraft.
