13. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE ACTIONS
Maintenance program
The maintenance program is subdivided in time frames. The maintenance actions described in this chapter can be done by a trained
projectionist. Note that there are also annually and 4 yearly maintenance actions (not included in this manual) which must be done
by certi

Remarks
1
Check
both dust
fi
lters
of the projector for
dust
and
grease
.
Grease on the
fi
lter can build up after several months in an environment
contaminated with greasy air. Note that areas where popcorn is consumed are
subject to greasy air.
•
If the
fi
lters are contaminated with
dust
than cleaning the
fi
lters with a
vacuum cleaner
should be suf
fi
cient.
•
In case the
fi
lters feel
greasy
than the
fi
lters must be
washed
.
Take into account that the time needed to dry the dust
fi
lters may be 24 hours or
more. For that, it’s recommended to have a second set of dust
fi
lters which can
be used while cleaning the
fi
rst set.
Replace damaged
fi
lters immediately.
See procedures "Remove and clean the
front dust
To speed-up drying, allow the
fi
lter(s)
to dry at 50°C max in a well ventilated
room.
2
Check the surface of the lens output side for dust. (it is not needed to remove
the lens from the projector). Only clean if necessary.
Clean the lens output side in case dust
is clearly visible upon the surface.
Note:
if the lens was removed from
the projector, a manual “Lens Home
& Return” action must be executed
to calibrate the position of the lens in
relation to the Lens Holder. This way
the references of the existing ’lens
fi
les’
remain valid. See user guide of the
Communicator software.
3
Check the porthole (both sides) for dust.
Clean the porthole in case dust is clearly
visible upon the surface. Use an optical
cloth.
13.2 3 month maintenance actions
MAINTENANCE TYPE B (perform every three months)
The 3 month maintenance actions, listed below, may be performed by a trained projectionist who is familiar
with potential hazards associated with the product.
