1.3 Mounting orientation
The APC810 must be mounted as described in the following sections.
1.3.1 Vertical mounting orientation
APC810 systems with or without a fan kit can be mounted in this orientation.

In order to facilitate natural air circulation, devices must be mounted according to the spacing indicated in the
section "Air circulation spacing" on page 172.
1.3.2 Horizontal mounting orientation
Operation in the horizontal mounting orientation (heat sink on top) requires the use of a fan kit. The maximum
ambient temperature specification must be reduced by 5°C.
