TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. Loose ground cable.
2. Loose hot cable.
3. Dead battery.
4. Cutter wheel was engaged before the
machine was started.
5. Emergency stop activated.
1. Clean and tighten.
2. Clean and tighten.
3. Recharge or replace.
4. Make sure the ignition switch is
off,­disengage­cutter­wheel,­and­
then restart the machine.
5. Pull or twist the emergency stop
to deactivate.
Cutter wheel
vibration.
1. Tooth missing.
2. Pocket out of balance.
Do not mix new and worn out teeth.
3. Improper tooth arrangement.

2. Always replace pockets in pairs
across from each other.
3. Install correctly with like pairs of
teeth directly across from each

Cutter wheel

Cutter wheel

1. Cutter wheel belt loose or broke.
2. Low hydraulic pressure.
3. Debris wedged around cutter wheel.
1. Adjust or replace.
2. Reset pressure.
3. Clean out debris.
Belt squeal. 1. Belt tension too loose.
2. Belt out of alignment
1. Tighten or replace.
2. Align sheaves.
Belt jumping off. 1. Engaging or disengaging belt at high
engine RPM.
2. Belt tensioners are too loose.
3. Sheaves out of alignment
1. Engage/disengage belts at low
engine speed or replace.
2. Adjust belt tension. Refer to
belt tension of the maintenance
section.
3. Make sure sheaves are aligned
properly.
Roar in machine
when cutter
wheel is engaged.
1. Belt guards rubbing on motor shaft or
cutter wheel shaft.
2. Cutter wheel bearings going bad.
1. Reposition­guards­off­of­shafts.
2. Replace bearings.
Bearing will not
take grease.
