FIRST HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT FILLING
After checking that the protective plastic caps inside the pump fittings
have been removed, proceed as follows:
•
Set the burner switch on “O” to prevent an automatic activation of
the burner.
WITH A THREE-PHASE BURNER,
•
Make sure that the motor rotates in an anti-clockwise direction, by
observing the burner from the pump side.
•
The motor direction can be checked also by looking at rotation of
the fan through the inspection hole situated on the back of the scroll.
•
To start up the motor, close the remote control switch manually by
pressing on the mobile part for a few seconds and watch the sense
of rotation of the fan.
•
If it is necessary to reverse the direction of rotation, invert the wires
of the two phases to the terminals of the motor contactor K1.
IMPORTANT
To positively determine the direction of rotation, wait until the fan
turns very slowly because it is quite possible to misinterpret the
direction of rotation.
•
Detach, if already connected, the flexible hoses from the suction and
return pipes.
•
To prevent the pump from operating dry and will increase the suction
power, Dip the end of the flexible intake hose in a tin containing
either lubricant or fuel oil, do not use low-viscosity products such as
diesel, petrol, kerosene.
•
Press on the mobile part of the motor remote control switch in order
to start up the motor and therefore the pump.
•
Wait until the pump has sucked in an amount of lubricant equal to 1
or 2 glassfuls, then stop.
WITH A SINGLE-PHASE BURNER,
•
Switch off the master switch and the boiler and safety thermostats
and then start up the motor and ignition transformer. On inserting
the solenoid expose the photoresistor to a light source so that the
burner does not lock-out. When the piping is filled (when fuel comes
out of the nozzle) stop the burner and put the photoresistor back in
its place.
DANGER / ATTENTION
Pump operating at 2800 r.p.m. must not work dry otherwise they
will jam (seizure) within a very short time.
•
Attach the flexible hose to the suction pipe and open any gate valves
fitted on this pipe and any other shut-off element on the fuel pipes.
•
Run the pump again as previous points in the case of single-phase
and three-phase burners.
•
The pump with draw up the fuel from the tank. When the fuel comes
out of the return line not yet connected, stop the burner.
CAUTION / WARNINGS
If the pipe is particularly long, it may be necessary to bleed the
air out through the cap on the pump; if the pump does not have
a cap, remove the pressure gauge connector cap.
•
Connect the flexible return hose to the pipe and open the
corresponding gate valves.
•
The burner is now ready to start.
