The BNI IOF-329-P02-Z038 is a decentralized saf e input and output
module. It can be connected like any standard IO-Link device to a Balluff
PROFINET IO-Link-Master. The safe communication i s d o n e v i a t h e
PROFIsafe protocol.

Mechanical installation
The module is secured by means of two M6 screws and two washer s.
Insulation support is available separately.
Electrical Installation
Grounding
When wiring be sure to observe basic electrical
guidelines. E.g. EN IEC 60204-1 and all additional
standards that are relevant for the respective
application have to be observed.
The ground connection between housing and machine must have
a low impedance and be as short as possible.

Only use PELV rated power supplies to energize the saf e I/O
module.
Use a f use or an intelligent power supply that d i sc on n e ct s t h e
v oltage supply in case of overcurrent greater than 9 A.
The sensor and actuator v oltages are not changed in the
BNI IOF-329-P02-Z038. Its input voltage is t h e r ef o r e a l so t h e
input v oltage for the connected devices. Accordingly, the connect-
ed dev ices must be able to handle PELV rated power supply.
To ensure IP67 protection, the connector must be tightene d to a
torque of 1.5 Nm.

+24-V supply as well as the ground potential.
Make sure to av oid cross-connections between the output cables.
This can e.g. be done by the measures that are listed in
EN ISO 13849-2 table D.4.
To ensure IP67 protection, the connector must be tightened to a
torque of 0.6 Nm and the unused ports fitted with M12 plugs.
