The decrease in accuracy with larger transmit-
ter- receiver distances is mainly due to diffrac-
tion effects on the object. In order to keep these
effects as low as possible, it is always advanta-
geous to place the object to be detected as
close as possible to the receiver.

Maintenance
Aside from cleaning of the surfaces protecting the front of
the lens, the Balluff Light Array requires only minimal
maintenance.
The emitter and receiver windows should be kept clear of
contamination (dust, fingerprints, etc.). If cleaning is
needed, wipe the windows with a lint-free cloth and
alcohol (ethanol, isopropanol). Do not use acetone!
