10 RECOMMENDED HIGH VOLTAGE DIELECTRIC WITHSTAND TESTING (Hi-Pot Testing)
Testing agencies such as UL, CSA, etc., usually require that equipment undergo a hi-pot test. In order to prevent
catastrophic damage to the control, which has been installed in the equipment, it is recommended that the follow-
ing procedure be followed. A typical hi-pot test setup is shown in Figure 13 on page 23. All controls have been
factory hi-pot tested in accordance with UL requirements.

When performing the hi-pot test, disconnect the AC power.
