Field bus
A signal line or set of signal lines used by an interface system to which many devices
are connected and over which messages are carried.
Function code
An algorithm which manipulates specific functions. These functions are linked
together to form the control strategy.
I/O expander bus
Parallel communication bus between the control and I/O modules.
