MAINTENANCE
This table saw requires very little maintenance other than minor lubrication and cleaning. The
following sections detail what will need to be done to assure continued operation of your saw.
Daily:
•
Check daily for any unsafe conditions and fix immediately.
•
Check that all nuts and bolts are properly tightened.
•
Wipe down the table surface and grooves with a rust preventive.
•
Clean pitch and resin from the saw blade.
Weekly:
•
Clean the machine and the area around it.
•
Lubricate threaded components and sliding devices.
•
Table surface must be kept clean and free of rust for best results. Apply a coat of paste wax
to the surface to facilitate this. Alternatively, aerosol protectants are available from hardware
and tool stores.
•
Clean motor housing with compressed air.
•
Wipe down the fence rails with a dry silicon lubricant.
•
Clean and oil the tables so that the material will slide easily. Clean any rust spots that may
develop on the bed with a commercial rust remover.
•
Use a vacuum to clean out the interior of the machine to keep chips and sawdust from
accumulating on the belts and pulleys.
Note:
When cleaning chips and debris from the machine, use a brush and a shop
vacuum.
DO NOT
blow off the machine with compressed air. The force of the compressed air
may force chips into critical mechanisms or may inflict injury to yourself or others.
Periodic:
•
Keep the inside of the cabinet and trunnion area clean.
•
Check for excessive play in the tilting and raising mechanism and in the saw arbor and re-
adjust as required.
WARNING:
Make sure the electrical disconnect is OFF before working on
the machine.
Maintenance should be performed on a regular basis following proper safety
precautions.
