When measuring the temperature with the thermometer, DO NOT walk or
run as the probe could present a hazard.
•
Body temperature of individual varies with difference part of the body, Oral,
axillary, and rectal temperature vary by approximately 0.5°C/1.0°F.
•
DO NOT open the thermometer except replacing the battery.

Although the generally accepted “normal” temperature reading is 37.0°C
/98.6°F, temperature readings can vary from 36.1°C/ 97.0°F to 37.2°C/99.0°F
and still may be considered “normal”. Variations in temperature can be
attributed to activities such as exercise, smoking, eating and drinking. Our
temperature is lower in the morning than in the afternoon. Other variations may
be due to the location of the temperature reading. While the oral temperature
follows the guidelines described in following sections, a rectal temperature is
generally 0.5˚C /1.0˚F higher. Conversely, an auxiliary (under the arm)
temperature will be 0.5˚C /1.0˚F lower.
1. Press ON/OFF button to activate. The thermometer will beep once for about
0.5 second and the display will show icons as per the image of “fig. A” show
below for about 2 seconds. The thermometer will then display briefly the
last reading taken for a second with an “M” on the lower right hand corner of
the display window. Follow, a self-test temperature display 98.6°F (or
37.0°C if using the Celsius temperature scale) will appear on the display
window for about 1 second.

2. The thermometer now will show image as follows (Fig. B & Fig. C) with °F (or
°C) flashes continuously, of which this flashing un its, indicated the
thermometer is ready for use. The display always shows the higher
temperature during the temperature measurement period.

For ages four years or older;
•
Before attempting an oral temperature measuring, keep your mouth closed
for 5 minutes.
•
Place the probe tip of the thermometer well under the tongue in locations as
indicated by the “
” sign in the following image (Fig. D) for most accurate
measuring. Press tongue down over the tip and keep mouth closed during
temperature measurement period, hold the thermometer steady and keeping
its tip at the same position during the measurement period as far as possible.

•
The peak temperature should be reached in approximately 10-20 second.
•
Once the peak temperature is reached, the °F/°C sy mbol will stop flashing
and the thermometer will beep continuously 10 times.
•
Normal oral temperature is 98.6°F (37.0°C).
Note:
1. If the tip is not placed to the proper position then temperature reading can be
lower 12°F/0.7°C than the one taken in the correct position.
2. Opening the month could result in longer time for a reading.
3. Drinking hot or cold fluids, exercising, smoking or performing other activities
may raise or lower your temperature and therefore, it is important to relax for
approximately 5 minutes with your mouth closed prior to taking a reading.
4. It is necessary to hear the beeps to ensure the peak temperature has been
reached. A consistent °F/°C symbol with a consiste nt temperature reading
indicates the peak temperature has been reached.
•
Wipe armpit with dry towel and place the probe under the armpit. Bring
arm down against the body and keep armpit closed during temperature
measurement.
•
The peak temperature should be reached in approximately 20-30 second or
longer depending on placement of the probe and closure of the arm against
the body.
•
Once the peak temperature is reached, the °F/°C sy mbol will stop flashing
and the thermometer will beep continuously 10 times.
•
Normal axillary temperature is 97.6°F (36.5°C) whi ch is generally 0.5°C
/1.0°F lower than oral readings.
Commonly used for babies body temperature measuring
•
This method can be use when it is difficult to take an oral or axillary
temperature.
•
Lubricate the probe with a water-soluble personal lubricant. DO NOT use
petroleum jelly.
•
Gently insert the probe tip into rectum about 1/2 inch (about 1cm).
•
DO NOT force the tip into the rectum if resistance is encountered.
•
The peak temperature should be reached in approximately 10 seconds.
•
Once the peak temperature is reached, the °F/°C sy mbol will stop flashing
and the thermometer will beep continuously 10 times.
•
Normal rectal temperature is 99.6°F/37.5°C which i s generally 1.0°F/ 0.5°C
higher than oral readings.
NOTE: For hygienic reasons, do not use the same thermometer for rectal use
that you do for Axillary or oral use.
