Securing High-Back Booster Seat in Vehicle

12.5 Adjusting Flex-Sides™ Back

Support and Head Support

Both Flex-Sides™ Back Support and Head

Support are adjustable. Always properly adjust

to fit your child as indicated in this section.

1. Lift the fabric cover to reveal the Height

Adjustment Button for both Flex-Sides™

Back Support and Head Support. (Fig 62-1)

2. Firmly press in the Height Adjustment Button

and slide the Flex-Sides™ Back Support up

or down to center shoulder belt on child’s

shoulder. (Fig 62-2) If the belt lies across the

child’s neck, head or face, adjust the belt to

pass over the child’s shoulder by adjusting

the height of the Flex-Sides™ Back Support.

Note: The adjustable back has eight (8)

height positions. Check to make sure the

seat locks into one of the eight positions

before use.

12.4 Securing Child in High-Back Booster Seat

1. Place child in High-Back booster seat with child’s back and rump

contacting seating surfaces.

2. Slide vehicle lap belt into slot below

Armrest and into vehicle belt guide, the

vehicle lap belt should pass through the

Vehicle Lap Belt Guide indicated by the

RED

 colored section below the Armrest.

3. Fasten the vehicle belt buckle and pull

up on the shoulder belt to tighten.

(Fig 61-1)

4. Check to make sure that the shoulder

belt is positioned properly over the

shoulder and is snug against the child.

The lap portion of the lap/shoulder belt

MUST be low and snug on your child’s

hips, just touching the thighs. (Fig 61-2)

A snug strap should not allow any slack.

It lies in a relatively straight line without

sagging.  It does not press on the child’s

flesh or push the child’s body into an

unnatural position.
