BATTERY SERVICING
The top of the batteries should be cleaned regularly to avoid current leakage between
the cells. If the battery is located in a separate area it is normally sufficient to clean it in
the spring and autumn. Make sure that the air holes in the cell plugs are open so that
gas can be vented. The terminals and cable terminals must be lubricated to prevent
deposits and corrosion.
The main switches for the batteries are located on the main switch
panel. The batteries are charged when the engine is running, or with a
battery charger or other optional extras.
Do not use matches, a cigarette lighter or other form of naked flame
when checking the electrolyte level, because the battery gives off
explosive gas.
