Troubleshooting

Action/Status

Description

LED indication

No node ID.

The Z-Wave controller could not find the device and
did not provide a node ID.

2 seconds on, 2 seconds off, for 2
minutes.

1. Press the link button 3 times within 1.5 seconds
to put the device into exclusion mode.

2. Within 1 second of step 1, press the link button
again and hold for 5 seconds.

Factory Reset

(This procedure should only be
used when the controller is
inoperable.)

3. Node ID is excluded. The device reverts to factory
default state.

2 seconds on, 2 seconds off, for 2
minutes.

Failure or success in including/excluding the ID can be viewed on the Z-Wave Controller.

The table below lists typical problems encountered:

Possible Cause

Recommendation

Cannot perform inclusion and
association.

1. The device is still connected, or has

been accidentally included in a previous
network.

2. The entered PIN code is incorrect.
3. The battery has run out of power.
4. Battery polarity is reversed.

1. Exclude the device before

including it again.

2. Make sure you entered the

correct PIN code.

3. Replace the battery.
4. Refit the battery with the

correct polarity.

When Alert Button is pressed,
the LED illuminates, but the
receiver(s) have no response.

1. The device is still connected, or has

been accidentally included in a previous
network.

2. The distance between the alert button

and the receiver(s) is too great.

3. The batteries have run out of power.

1. Exclude the device before

including it again.

2. Move the device closer to

the receivers.

3. Replace the batteries.
