Axis NPS 550 User’s Manual

Verify the Communication

To verify communication by making a test printout, just send a job to 
one of the print queues that NPS 550 will service. Use CAPTURE, 
NPRINT, or PCONSOLE.

Example:

Use CAPTURE from the DOS command line when you are logged into 
the network, to print out the autoexec.bat file from the root of drive C:

The CAPTURE switches have the following meanings: 

/L=1

 captures the 

printouts sent to the PC LPT1 port, 

/Q=DESKTOP

 specifies the print 

queue, 

/NOTIFY

 enables user messages, 

/TI=30

 sets the time-out to 30 

seconds, 

/NT

 specifies no tab expansion, 

/FF 

ends the printout with a 

Form Feed, and 

/NB

 disables the banner page.
