1.1.5. Reading Head
Each track consists of a photosensitive element framed by two LED's (light-emitting diode) illuminating the reading zone.
•
Head with red light :
For fibre pen, pencil or ballpoint pen marks.
Printout of the polychrome document with clock marks (marks for line synchronisation) in black;
marking fields in red, orange or yellow.

Head with infrared light :
For pencil marks only.
Printout of the polychrome document with clock marks (marks for line synchronisation) in black;
marking fields in different colours (colour references in the Axiome Technical Application Note)

Reading adaptation :
Automatic adaptation to the background colour of the document.
•
Paper dust :
Dust dense and auto-cleansing.
•
Mark density :
Output on 15 independent density levels for each channel. Less insensitive to mirror and fold marks.
•
Number of tracks:
48 at a spacing of 1/6" or
40 at a spacing of 1/5"
•
Number of clock tracks :
1 for 48 track head
1 for 40 track head
