Typical applications
EOC 1-31 and EOC 2-31 communicate with each other in the return path range of 5...65 MHz. All components
in the distribution structure must passively transmit this frequency range in both directions.
4.1.
EoC in a SAT IF distribution structure
The IP data is received by a router and forwarded to an EOC 1-31. The EOC modulates the IP data and feeds it
into the terrestrial input of the multiswitch.
•
If the EoC signals are fed into the terrestrial range of a multi-switch, then this input must be passive.
•
Furthermore, in order to use the full data rate of the EoC system, the terrestrial input must support the
frequency range from 5 to 65 MHz. In a multiswitch cascade system, the conditions apply to the entire
terrestrial branch.
The IP data can be received at the other EOC devices. These then provide Internet access for connected devices
(PCs, mobile phones, tablets, etc.).
