SPARK PLUG
To change the spark plug remove air cleaner cover and remove spark plug. Use the proper size
spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug. Visually inspect the spark
plug. Clean the spark plug with a wire brush if it is to be reused.
Discard the spark plug if there is no apparent changes in its condition.
The spark plug should be replaced every 40-50 man hours.
Use a wire type feeler gauge to set the electrode gap at 6~0,7mm.
CHAIN BRAKE
Check for ease of movement and correct operation on a daily basis.
Replace the brake band when its thickness is less than half the original.
OIL SYSTEM
Cleaning of the oil slot and the oil grove of the guide must be performed after each use.
Remove the side panel and the guide bar, and check the conditions of the oil groove. dirt if
necessary. Remove the chain from the guide. Clean the chain from the guide. Clean the guide from
chips and dirt. Clean the chain guide groove and oil feeding orifice. Lubricate the toothed wheel at
the top of the guide, using couple of oil drops through the lubricating hole.
SETTING THE SAW CHAIN
A properly sharpened saw chain cuts through wood effortlesly even with very
little pushing. The chain must be periodically sharpened which should be done as
follows:
1.
Tighten the chain saw.
2.
Secure the chainsaw blade in a vise so that the chain can move along the
bar freely.
3.
Using a flat file the center cutters should be filled on leading edge at 30°
angle or at the same angle as cutting teeth.
4.
The shortest cutting tooth is sharpened first. The length of this tooth is
then the target size for all the other teeth on the saw chain. All of the
cutting elements must have the same length. To start with, file all of the
cutting elements on one side from the inside outwards, then file all of
the cutting elements on the other side. Always fully file out any
damage from the side plate or the roof of the tooth.
5.
Lay the depth limiter gauge on the cutting element. If the depth
limiter protrudes, file off the protruding part with a flat file. Round off
the front edge of the depth limiter. The original shape must be restored.
6.
To pull the chain through while filing, pull the chain forwards with a
screwdriver towards the tip of the rail. This will reduce the risk of
slipping.
To avoid premature wear to the guide, it is necessary to start and end cutting in a
straight line, otherwise you can cause irreparable damage to the guide.
