Operation
Turn both Inside and Outside volume controls (3, 4) fully down (anticlockwise) and switch the power on to
the main unit (5) - the LED power indicator will light to show that power is on.
Gradually turn the Inside volume control (3) clockwise and speak into the gooseneck microphone,
checking for output from the client speakerphone until the volume is adequate for the surroundings.
Do the same for the speakerphone by gradually turning the Outside volume control (4) clockwise and
speaking close to the speakerphone until it can be clearly heard through the loudspeaker of the main unit.
During operation, it may be necessary to adjust these volume controls as the ambient noise changes.
Each Volume control has a corresponding LED to indicate the sound that its microphone can detect (3, 4).
If there is feedback (howling or squealing caused by a microphone hearing its own output through a
speaker), one or both of the volume controls may need to be turned down to mitigate this effect.
The TGM4 has a suppressor circuit to avoid each unit from hearing itself which could result in feedback.
This circuit reduces the sound of one microphone as the other is being used, delivering the 2-way
conversation in a controlled manner. The operator or client do not need to activate any switches and the
process is completely hands-free. Only occasional volume adjustments may be needed from the operator.
When not in use, turn down the volume controls and switch off the power. If not being used for long
periods, unplug the 9Vdc adaptor from the mains supply.
