Setting up
The TGM4 comprises a main unit with integral gooseneck microphone for the operator and a
speakerphone for the client side of the window or partition.
The main unit should be free-standing on a surface close to the operator so that the gooseneck
microphone can be positioned to easily pick up the speech of the operator. This unit is powered using the
9Vdc power adaptor provided. With the power switch (5) in the
“
off
”
position, connect the plug-top
adaptor to the 230Vac mains supply and the DC connector into the 9Vdc inlet on the rear panel of the
TGM4 (6).
The client speakerphone should be positioned so that the client can hear the output of its miniature
loudspeaker and the internal microphone can pick up the speech of the client. This may be flat on a
counter-top or upright on the dividing window or partition. A keyhole on the rear of the speakerphone
allows it to be fixed with a screw if needed or double sided self-adhesive pads may be used.
The lead from the speakerphone is terminated with a 3.5mm plug and must be fed through the partition
to the main unit and connected to the socket labelled
“
Speaker
”
(7)
If the intercom conversations are to be recorded or monitored, the TGM4 has another 3.5mm socket
which provides a line level audio signal of both gooseneck and client microphones that can be connected
to a recording device or other audio equipment. This socket is wired in stereo and the gooseneck
microphone is fed to the right channel and the client speakerphone is fed to the left channel.
