With a fully configured FRITZ!Box Fon you can receive tele-
phone calls as follows:

on your fixed-line number from the fixed-line network

on your fixed-line number from the Internet
z
on your Internet number from the Internet

Bandwidth Management with FRITZ!Box Fon
FRITZ!Box Fon is equipped with integrated bandwidth man-
agement. This function controls all incoming and outgoing
data traffic over DSL and ensures that telephone connec-
tions over the Internet are not affected by surfing. FRITZ!Box
Fon performs this task by adapting all uploads and down-
loads to the remaining bandwidth available, thus maintain-
ing a constant bandwidth for Internet telephone calls to
ensure high transmission quality. Because FRITZ!Box Fon al-
so places a higher priority on Internet telephony connections
over Internet data connections, unwelcome interference is
largely avoided. However, this is also true for Internet tele-
phony: once the conversation capacity has been reached,
the remote site will receive a busy signal.
