The Avlite wireless remote controller is able to program and communicate with individual
lights in the system via physical connection.
In the direct connection method, the Avlite wireless remote controller is connected to the
light of interest via a programming cable. This allows the controller to send messages and
commands to the individual light without the commands being sent to the other lights in
the mesh network.
It is possible to override the ‘natural’ network set-up procedure of the AvMesh
TM
Communications System and force a light to become a node (i.e. primary or reserve) via
the direct connection method.
This procedure is applicable only for the AV-LA426.
The process for forcing a light to be a primary node is below:
1.
Turn the Avlite wireless remote controller on.
2. After the initialization period, hold down the menu button for 3 seconds to enterthe
‘Controller Setup Menu’.
3. Press the ‘Menu’ button twice to arrive at the ‘Connection Method’ menu option and
select ‘Direct Connection’ using the arrow keys.
4. Press the ‘Send’ button and wait for the Avlite wireless remote controller to restart.
5. Press the ‘Menu’ button until ‘AvMesh
TM
Node’ is displayed on the screen.
6. Connect the Avlite wireless remote controller to the first light head.
7. Select ‘Primary (Forced)’ using the arrow keys.
8. Press ‘Send’ on the Avlite wireless remote controller. If successful, there should be a
tick next to the AvMesh
TM
Node title.
9. Disconnect the Avlite wireless remote controller from the light and connect it to the
next light.
10. Repeat steps 8 and 9.
This process can be used to force a reserve node by selecting ‘Reserve (Forced)’ in step 7.
