The ArgentBranch is equipped with six Expansion ports. These are located on the rear of
the unit and are labelled as follows:

The Expansion ports are used to interconnect to other Alchemy Series products i.e. the
ArgentPhone 8/16/30. These products, combined with the ArgentBranch, provide the
user with additional functionality (such as Telephony services when any ArgentPhone
module is connected).
Each Alchemy Series Argent Expansion Module that requires connection to the
ArgentBranch is supplied with the appropriate Expansion Interconnect cable.
If a spare, or replacement, Expansion Interconnect cable is required it can be obtained by
ordering Sales Feature ARG-VIC (part number CABTDMSN01M0PP00).

LAN
Connection to the LAN from the ArgentBranch may be made via one of the eight
10BaseT/100BaseT ports on the front of the unit. The LAN ports on the front of the unit
are not labelled.
The right most LAN port on the front of the unit can be used for cascading to other hubs
without the need for a crossover cable.
The Daisy Chain pushbutton to the right of this port is used to set the mode of this LAN
port (see Port Labeling, page 11 for details). When the Daisy Chain switch is in the OUT
position the port can be connected to a hub without the need for a crossover cable, i.e. the
port is an MDI type port. When the Daisy Chain switch is in the IN position the port can
be connected directly to a PC, as per the other seven 10BaseT/100BaseT LAN ports on
the front of the unit, i.e. the port is an MDI-X type port.
