Designed purpose of use

The AVANT Backhoe 170 is an attachment suitable for use with 200-series 2 AVANT multi purpose loaders.
With  the  separate  control  levers  and  smooth movements  the  backhoe  is  easy  to  use  also  by  inexperienced
operators. Boom movement speeds are steplessly adjustable, which ensures smooth movements and precise
control.

Attaching  the  backhoe  to  a  loader  is  quick  and  easy  and  takes  only  a  couple  of  minutes.  In  addition  to  the
quick  coupling  plate  of  the  loader,  a  supporting  bracket  is  also  connected  on  the  loader  boom  for  greater
stability and safety. Also, for more rigid coupling, the bolts on the backhoe can be tightened against the quick
coupling plate of loader.

The  powerful,  strong,  and  compact  backhoe  is  well  suited  for  digging  and  loading  of  soil  to a  trailer  even  at
smaller, confined areas. The frame of the backhoe is as low as possible, which gives unrestricted visibility to
the  work  area.  The  boom  swing  turns  hydraulically  120°,  and  the  backhoe  is  equipped  with  two    adjustable
outriggers  and  a  dozer  blade  on  the  front  frame  are  standard  equipment.  As  standard,  the  backhoe  is
equipped  with  a  250  mm  bucket,  and  also  a  400  mm  bucket  is  available  as  an  option.  The  bucket  can  be
changed quickly with the pin locking of the bucket.

Using  the  digger  for  other  than  occasional  excavations  with  original  buckets,  tools  or  options  is  prohibited.
Using too large bucket, or handling too heavy loads, cause the risk of tipping the loader-backhoe combination
over. The backhoe must not be used for lifting of objects. The backhoe is not intended for dredging, it must not
be immersed in water.

If the loader is equipped with a cab, the windscreen, or its lower part, must be removed to
make  it  possible  to  attach  and  operate  the  backhoe.  Contact  Avant  service  for  further
information or instructions if necessary.

The  attachment  has  been  designed  to  require  as  little  maintenance  as  possible.  The  operator  can  perform
regular  maintenance  tasks.  All  repair  work  can’t  be  performed  by  the  operator,  and  demanding  repair  and
maintenance operations are to be left for professional maintenance. All maintenance work must be done using
proper safety equipment. Spare parts must be identical with original specifications, which can be ensured by
using only original spare parts. A separate spare parts catalogue may be available, consult your Avant dealer.

Familiarise  yourself  with  the  manual's  instructions  regarding  service  and  maintenance.  Please  contact  your
AVANT  retailer  if  you  have  additional  questions  about  the  operation  or  maintenance  of  the  equipment,  or  if
you require spare parts or maintenance services.
