6.0 CONNECTING THE HARDWARE
Please study the panel drawings below and become familiar with the signal input,
outputs, power requirements plus any controls present.
Connect the AC to +5VDC adapter to an AC source and then to the DC power
input shown on the right side of the lower drawing above.
(Note that there is no
power switch. The unit will begin to function as soon as you have the AC to
+5VDC adapter plugged in and furnishing power).
Next connect an input cable and an output cable to either the Composite Video
or S-Video connectors as desired.
(Note that you can connect both Composite
and S-Video cables to the input connectors but you cannot use both at the same
time. You must select one or the other for the signal conversion process using
the input select switch. V equals Composite Video and S equals S-Video.)

OPERATING THE UNIT
Operation of the AVT-1660 operation is for the most part automatic. The type of
television signal is automatically detected and the conversion process is also
automatic.
Manual intervention is limited to selecting either the Composite or S-Video
connector as the input source and selecting NTSC 3.58 or PAL as the output
type using the Input and Output switches. Once you’ve made those selections,
the front panel LEDs will indicate the input connector you’ve selected, the output
format you’ve selected and the type of input signal that the AVT-1660 has
detected.
(Note that in the event of no input signal, the AVT-1660 will output
