New Features for Customizing Catalogs
Migrating Part Catalogs
To ensure that you are using the most current catalog data in your engineering designs, you can upgrade
catalogs in a domain. For more information, see
on page 782.
Redefining the Catalog Parts in a Drawing
You can scan the pipe fittings and MvParts in a legacy drawing and update the drawing with any modified
catalog parts. For more information, see
Redefining the Catalog Parts in a Drawing
on page 783.
New Features for Customizing Display
Configuring the Display of AutoCAD MEP Objects Based on Elevation
Enable Display by Elevation on the Options dialog to configure display components to show or hide MvParts,
as well as pipe, cable tray, conduit, and duct objects, based on elevation. You can differentiate the display
attributes for these parts relative to their location above or below the active cut plane and display ranges.
For more information, see
Display of Objects Based on Elevation
on page 144.
New Features for Building Systems
Converting Solids or Mass Elements to Block-Based Parts
Convert 3D solids or mass elements directly to block-based MvParts. It is no longer necessary to convert the
3D solid or mass element object to an AutoCAD block, and then convert the block to an MvPart. For more
information, see
Converting MvBlocks to Block-Based Parts
on page 743.
Importing Manufacturer-Specific Parts from Autodesk Inventor
Use the Building Component command to import manufacturer-specific content created by Autodesk
Inventor or similar applications into AutoCAD MEP as block-based MvParts. No intermediate conversion to
AutoCAD blocks is necessary.
