The BCT Tester
will monitor the
starter current
and voltage while
the engine is
cranking.
The BCT Tester
will use the logged
data to determine
the cranking
current, cranking
voltage, cranking
time, and cranking
RPM
If the engine
starting RPM was
detected, the BCT
Tester will ask how
many cylinders
the engine has
to determine the
starting RPM. If
not then the BCT
Tester will ask the
user to repeat the
test.
INDIVIDUAL TESTS (STARTER TEST W/O PROBE)
Press the Start
key to begin the
test. The unit
will take some
preliminary
measurements.
From home
screen, touch
Individual Test,
then touch Starter
Test.
Connect as
shown.
Leave box
“unchecked”
regarding use of
probe, then touch
ok.
Turn the key to
the run position.
Wait for the ECU
to power up.
Start the
Engine.
The BCT Tester
will ask if the
vehicle cranks.
