FR-X range

.

This user manual contains essential information for rigging and deploying FR-X elements to their full capability.

Carefully read this document in order to become familiar with the system.

Whether pole mounted or arrayed, the proprietary AUDIOFOCUS technology in the FR-X 12a and FR-X 15a cabinets make them
highly versatile units in your professional sound reinforcement inventory.

I. Physical features and hardware description

The FR-X range (constant curvature) features compact 2-way self-powered bass-reflex enclosures loaded with neodymium

speakers and ferrite compression drivers coupled to a versatile AF horns. Operating over nominal frequencies from 50Hz to

20kHz, model dependant, the rotatable AF horn generates a 80°x30° asymmetric directivity pattern.

The FR-X rigging system allows assembling a horizontal or vertical array with constant curvature. Coupling between traditional
horns causes a lot of comb effects resulting in poor sound projection and coherence in the space due to bad coupling between
cabinets.

Thanks to the AF horn and specific DSP treatment, comb effects are eliminated to ensure a perfect coupling between FRX-a

cabinets and create a coherent wavefront at any location. We call that ‘’

X-comb

’’ technology that permits the use of rotating horn

to adapt directivity and curvature array.

Made of first grade Baltic birch plywood, FR-X cabinets feature a 35mm standard bottom flange, standardised cargo flying
hardware and a specific H profile. Thanks to this and the proprietary horn technology FR-X can be pole mounted or flown with
the H profile ensuring system stability and perfect coupling between cabinets.
