Mediant 3000 & IPmedia 3000
If at a later stage, you need to change the device's global IP address (and without losing
current configuration), depending on whether the new global IP address is in the same
subnet as the current global IP address, perform one of the following:
Same subnet:
only necessary to re-define the global IP address (i.e., in the procedure
above, skip to Step 4 for defining the global IP address in the EMS).
Different subnets:
re-define (using BootP) the blades' private IP addresses so that
they are in the same subnet as the new global IP address and then define the new
global IP address in EMS (i.e., perform the procedure above in its entirety).
Notes:
When changing the global IP address:
•
If the device is configured with VLAN interfaces, you must switch back to
a single interface configuration (refer to the
User's Manual
) before
changing the global IP address.
•
Do not load a cmp or an ini file when using BootP/DHCP; otherwise, the
current configuration running on the device's flash memory will be
erased.
