Properties
The product has the protection rating (JIS C
0920) for water resistance equivalent to
IPX5

as well as dust resistance
equivalent to IP5X

on the condition that the
back cover and external connection terminal
cover are completely attached (based on
in-house testing).
The product also meets ruggedization test
requirements, 19 categories of the US
Department of Defense's MIL-STD-810H

standards (by Company test methods). Product
capabilities are confirmed in a test environment,
and does not guarantee capabilities under all
conditions of actual use. No guarantees are
made with regard to non-breakage or non-fault.
Before using the product, thoroughly read
"Important Precautions before Use" to ensure
correct use. Failure to follow the contents
described in these sections may cause the
intrusion of water, sand or other foreign
material, resulting in overheating, ignition,
electric shock, injury or a fault.
*1 IPX5 equivalent means that the product will
maintain its operability as a phone even if it is
sprayed with water from a 6.3 mm diameter nozzle
at a distance of about 3 meters for more than 3
minutes at a rate of about 12.5 liters per minute
from any direction.
*2 IPX8 equivalent means that the product will
maintain its operability as a phone with no water
getting inside the main unit even if it is gently
submerged in a tank of still tap water at room
temperature to a depth of 1.5 meter for about 30
minutes.
*3 IP5X equivalent means protection level that the
product will securely maintain its operability as a
communication device even after it has been placed
in an apparatus with grit and dust of diameters of
75 μm or less and shaken for 8 hours. (Invasion of
grit and dust cannot be prevented completely.)

Tested by dropping from about 1.22

Tested by attaching device to test
