Opeation Notes
ATP GPS Photo Finder will do self-check once it is powered. GPS starts to acquire GPS signals and
auto-logs. If the sky is clear overhead, it requires within 45 seconds ~ 1 minute for acquisition. If the data
in its memory is still valid, it needs only 5 ~ 35 seconds. After acquisition, ATP GPS Photo Finder starts
output data of position, speed and time in NMEA0183 format.
For the first time if it was placed at the area well exposed to the satellite signal, the device requires approx.
13 minutes ( theoretically 12.5 minutes ) to receive or update ALMANAC. Refer to trouble shooting guide
when the signal is not received well.
If the ATP GPS Photo Finder formatting the internal data is not correct, or if the satellite data has been
deleted, it takes longer time to position. But under following conditions, it can take even longer time to get
cold start:
(1) If it was not in use for over 1 month ( the ALMANAC is old dated ).
(2) If the last recorded position data is over 500 KM.
After positioning, ATP GPS Photo Finder transfers navigation data through export interface as below:
(1) Latitude
(2) Longitude
(3) Altitude
(4) Speed
(5) Date
(6) Time ( UTC Time)
(7) Estimated error
(8) Satellite status
(9) Receiving status
