Handle for thermal
nystagmus stimulation
Remove the handle from the support. Due to the built in light barrier, the ear irrigation module starts up automatically.
After taking out the handle the control of the Variotherm requires approx. 20 s until the requested temperature is reached.
Check the temperature display! As long as the actual temperature deviates from the requested temperature, the LED of the
"set button" is blinking. As soon as the requested temperature is reached, the LED is continuously illuminated. Only then start
to rinse the auditory canal.

Please make sure that the water supply module is switched on and that water supply is
guaranteed!

Keep

Next time when the relevant temperature is selected again, the
previous time setting is taken over automatically.
Please check the time setting of the timer once in a while.

lapse of time a beep is audible again.
You may use the Variothem at temperatures betweeen 20°C up to 47°C.
In order to change the set temperature the set button must be kept pressed*.
With the arrow keys
the set temperature can be selected within 20-47°C.
After release of the "set" button the new set temperature is adjusted and on the
temperature display the actual temperature is displayed.
* On the temperature display the desired value is shown.
■ When the device is switched on, a segment test is performed. Here all LED light up for a short time. During
this time please visually inspect perfect function of the LED.
■ Prior to caloric stimulation, checking of the water pressure is essential. The required pressure is 2 bar.
