The following checklist is here to help identify
possible faults and what can be done to
overcome them. If the checklist doesn’t help
you to solve the problem, contact your stairlift
supplier, details on the back page.

Charging / battery fault.
No faults found, normal
operation mode.
Obstruction detected around the
footrest / carriage.
Power key is not in correctly or
on/off switch is in the 'off' position.
Downside arm not lowered.
Immobiliser seatbelt is not on
correctly (optional).
Seat is not in its travelling position.
Service Engineer required.
Check that the wall switch is on.
Check that there has not been a
power cut. If problem persists, call
your Stannah supplier.
Call your Stannah supplier if your
stairlift does not work.
Check whether there is anything
obstructing the safety edges. If there
is, the stairlift is still on and can be
moved in the opposite direction to
allow you to remove the obstruction.
You can then continue to go up or
down the stairs.
Check power key is in correctly
and on/off switch is in the 'on'
position - see page 10.
Ensure downside arm is fully
lowered. See page 12.
If you have an immobiliser seatbelt
fitted then ensure that it is clicked into
place - see page 14.
Swivel seat back to its travelling
position - see page 6.
Call your Stannah supplier.
