a. 

use only during daylight hours.  
Do not use at night.

inspect equipment.

c. 

check Blade connection, tighten Bolt if 
necessary.  See inspect Blade on page 14.

d. 

Make sure grass is dry.  

e. 

turn off Mower before moving over loose 
material, such as gravel, dirt, and mulch

.

General Operation

tO PrEVEnt SEriOuS inJury:  Do not put hands or feet near or under the machine.  
Keep clear of the discharge opening at all times.  
Wear anSi-approved safety glasses, heavy-duty work gloves, 
dust mask/respirator and hearing protection during use.  
clear the area of objects such as rocks, wire, toys, etc., which could be thrown by the blade. 
Stay behind the handle when the lawn mower   is running.  
Be sure the area is clear of bystanders before operating. Stop machine if anyone enters the area.

note:

  Two Battery Packs may be used.  The Mower will switch to second Battery Pack when first 

Battery Pack is discharged.  User may feel subtle loss of power and/or power surge while batteries switch.

1.  Open Battery Door, insert Battery Pack into battery 

compartment and push down until it clicks into 
place.  Insert second Battery Pack, if using.  

2.  Insert Safety Key.

note:

  Mower will not operate unless 

Safety Key is inserted.

 Start Push Mower (56998)

1.  Press and hold down Power Switch, then pull 

and hold Bail Control Bar against Handle.

2.  When Mower has started, release Power Switch.

3.  To stop Mower, release Bail Control Bar.
