Groups
Groups allow administrators to easily and efficiently manage users and
devices. Since device access rights apply to anyone who is a member of the
group, administrators need only set them once for the group, instead of having
to set them for each user individually. Multiple groups can be defined to allow
some users access to specific devices, while restricting other users from
accessing them. Device permissions are discussed on page 267.
Adding Groups
To create a group, do the following:
1. Click
Group
on the Account page.
2. Click
and then select
Add New Group
. The
Add New Group
window opens:
3. Enter the required information in the appropriate fields. A description of
each of the fields is given in the table below:
4. At this point you can assign users to the group by clicking
Edit
.
5. When your selections have been made click
Apply
.
Field
Description
Group Name
A maximum of 32 characters is allowed.
Description
Additional information about the user that you may
wish to include. A maximum of 32 characters is
allowed.
Member
Lists the users that are currently in the group. To add
users, click the
Edit
button.
