Set the operating mode:

If you are connecting the unit to a MERLIN, MERLIN
II, or MERLIN LEGEND CMS, move switch #3 to the
“CMS” position, and then proceed to Step 4. If this
unit is to be used with CMS for System 25 or System
75, proceed to Step 3b.
If you are connecting the unit to a conventional tip
and ring telephone circuit, move switch #3 to the
“T&R” position, and then proceed to Step 4.
If you are using the unit in a contact activated start
application, move switch #3 to the “T&R” position,
and then proceed to Step 4.

If the unit has 64 seconds of message memory (factory
default configuration), use the following table to set switches
#4 and #5 to specify how the unit will allocate
announcement time between message 1 and message 2.
