1000MAP  User’s Manual

Upgrading AP firmware

The access point firmware upgrade process can be completed via HTTP or TFTP. Each process is simple and can be completed by any 

IT administrator.  Current firmware can be downloaded by accessing the AT&T active

ARC

®

  Focus Member portal at  

http://activearc.

att.com/reseller/index.php

, clicking on 

Document Library

, and downloading the most recent file listed under 

Firmware Updates

.

 

 

Download the 

.tar

 file to a location on your PC and select that file in Step #3 listed below. 

Firmware upgrade section and definition

Item

Description

Firmware Version

Displays the current firmware version of the AP.

Upload Method

Upload by either HTTP or TFTP.

New Firmware Image

Click Browse to find firmware version to be uploaded.

Upgrade

Click Upgrade to confirm uploading of new firmware image.

Using HTTP to upgrade firmware versions

To complete the firmware upgrade process using HTTP:
1.  Select

 HTTP

 as the upgrade method.

2.  If you know the path of the new firmware file, click 

Browse

 to locate the file. 

 

The upgrade file type for the firmware must be a “.tar” file. Do not try to use a bin file or other 

types of files or this process will fail.
