6. In the event of a malfunction (failure)
When operational malfunction (abnormalities) of the RX-
7000α occurs,
check the operation of
the RX-
7000α
by the following procedure.
After turning on the RX-
7000α, c
heck the technical malfunction by "2. Daily check" and
measurement of the solution of a known concentration. (example: Brix 10%)
6-1. Check Procedure
1) Turn off the power supply switch of the RX-
7000α and turn on again
.
2) Confirm the initial screen (opening message) and the present temperature in the
measurement display screen.
3) Perform zero adjustment with distilled water.
4) Measure the solution of a known concentration. (example: Brix 10%)
In the above procedure, operational malfunction (abnormalities) can be checked or found.
Properly identify the situations of operational malfunction (abnormalities) of the
RX-
7000α
correctly.
6-2. Proper care
Depending on the operational malfunction (abnormalities) of the RX-
7000α
, decide proper
care to correct.
The cause of operational malfunction (abnormalities) can be divided roughly into two areas.
1)
The measured value is lower or higher due to an error in operation, mistake, etc
a. Sample from the previous measurement may have been left on the prism surface.
b.
Distilled water was left on the prism surface.
c.
Measurement was executed without closing the cover lid.
2)
If the operator of the RX-
7000α
makes any mistakes in operation or inputting of
work, the RX-
7000α
displays the corresponding error message.
a.
Zero adjustment was performed with a sample.
b.
Measurement was started with nothing on the prism, or zero adjustment was
started nothing on the prism .
In case of the above malfunctions, the end user can resolve by ensuring the above points are
checked and avoided. Carry out operation and measurement again. Perform step 3
(Periodical inspection of the preceding clause).
3) Failure in machinery or parts
When the RX-
7000α does not operate
properly due to mechanical trouble,
under the same measuring conditions, degradation of the parts inside the unit and/or
failure is assumed. The RX-
7000α
may be in need of repair.
a. Consult with the supervisor of the refractometer.
b. Record the trouble on an operating work report.
c. Contact the company where the refractometer was purchased.
d. Contact the manufacturer of the refractometer. (Make a contact list of the
company where the refractometer was purchased along with the manufacturer.)
e. In the case of repair, it becomes impossible to use the refractometer. Thus,
decide on methods of care and put them in writing.
