(4) Dripping purified water
Open the secondary prism by turning the
prism open-shut handle, and wipe down
the main and secondary prisms. Drip
purified water on the main prism and
close the secondary prism (Figure 9-6).

(5) Adjusting boundary line

Press the LAMP key of the light source
unit. The "LAMP" indication on the
display of the light source unit
becomes "ON". (Figure 9-7)
Look through the eyepiece and you
see such the lines as shown in Figure
9-8.

Turn off the room light so that the
surroundings of the refractometer
become slightly dark. *
Turn the eyepiece to bring it into focus
