This model AST21 conforms to Japanese technical
regulations relating to the human body absorption of
radio waves, and international guidelines for radiation
protection.
This data communication terminal is designed to
conform to the Japanese technical regulations relating
to the human body absorption of radio waves
※
and
tolerable limits for radiation protection that are
recommended by equivalent international guidelines.
These international guidelines were set out by the
International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation
Protection (ICNIRP), a partner to the World Health
Organization (WHO), and their tolerable limits allow for
an adequate factor of safety, regardless of the user's
age or health conditions.
The Japanese technical regulations and international
guidelines define such tolerance limits for radiation
protection in terms of a specific absorption rate (SAR),
which represents the average rate at which the radio
frequency energy is absorbed by the human body. The
SAR tolerance limit for this data communication
terminal is 2.0 W/kg. If this data communication
terminal is used under the conditions of normal use
